So we have reached the end of new years celebrations.
No more banging and shooting of fire crackers, waking up 7 am in the morning momentarily thinking you live in a war zone. Finally being able to speak on the phone again.
I had heard that the Lunar Festival would be celebrated in YuYuan Gardens in Old Town so Campbell and I headed over there together with about 200 000 other Chinese people.
I was very excited wondering what was actually going to take place! Not quite sure what we were looking for we made our way through the masses which were worse than People Square Metro Station at 5.30 pm.
This was a mistake.
Wobbling around like penguins on a pointless trek somewhere. There were nothing that "happened". Just masses of people walking around. The biggest attraction as far as we understood it was this plastic Tiger (it is the year of the Tiger now) posing with a giraffe (?).

As the World Expo is just around the corner the Chinese government have started a series of teaching videos to promote civilization. For example in the metro there are video clips showing people how to stand correctly in an escalator (stand to the right, let people pass on the left).
Recently they have started showing videos on how to cross the road correctly (walk on green man, wait on red man) which they now show in all taxis:

Just thought I should put up a warning here for people travelling to Mozambique.
You might get caught. Caught up in the total amazingness of the place and never ever leave.
To illustrate, let me tell you a story about a girl called Katrine:
Katrine came to Mozambique last year as a tourist.
But of course, she fell in love with Mozambique and returned this year to work at the Scandinavian school for half a year thinking this would take away some of the restlessness she felt in Norway.

Yeah sure you can criticise her looks and hip to waist ratio etc...but honestly when you are 7 years old that is not something you think about.
What you do think about however is what she can do. And Barbie can do eeeeverything from being a Doctor to Olympic goldmedal winner and all in between. At the time of the moon landing there was an austronaut Barbie launched. Barbie is simply a kick ass feminist.
Im so lucky I live in Shanghai where the Barbie house is located on Huai Hai Lu :)
They have an exhibition of all types of Barbies, vintage and modern, different Barbies of different nationalities and professions.
If I was 7 years old I would have died of excitement entering this building.
But it ain't bad for us grown ups either, because on the top floor there is a bar serving the most delicious cocktails all with a Barbie flavour.
I recommend the Barbietini and the Bikinitini :)

Who would have thought we would really find out what happened to Tutankhamun!!!!!!!
The actual cause of death was not a matter of conspiracy or murder, but simply malaria and weak immune system due to royal inbreeding (my brothers are a great catch...but no thanks).
Although reality turns out to be not as dramatic as the previous speculations, the findings are nonetheless really interesting.
I feel like a piece of a puzzle is in place, very contempt :)
